Over To You

Huntingdon Community Radio’s “Over to You” programme is the beating heart of our radio station.  The show is broadcast every week day night between 7pm and 8pm.  We specialise in bringing to you, our listeners, the stories of how local volunteers working in charities, clubs, youth organisations and societies are serving our community in and around Huntingdon.

If you’d like to appear on Over to You, please email overtoyou@hcrfm.co.uk.

We have some regular monthly features.

A recent addition to our monthly library is the Huntingdon Nostalgia programme led by Karl & Julie Brockett on the first Monday each month.  Karl is the Chairman of the local Huntingdonshire Nostalgia Group who gather and archive photos from all ages, past and present.

The Sky Tonight is our regular look at the evening skies and what is happening in the world of space and astronomy, on the first Tuesday each month.   Pete Singleton, is the presenter who leads a small team of extremely knowledgeable local astronomers.  Paul Fellows, F.R.A.S. & Jonathan Clough, F.R.A.S. both of the Cambridge Astronomical Association.

Ken Seymour, of KTS Computers in St Ives is Bill Hensley’s guest on the third Tuesday of the month. Ken answers listeners questions about all kinds of technical problems which occur when using your laptop, stand alone computer or I pad.

Each first Wednesday of the Month, Norman Knapper welcomes our new Charity of the Month into the studio to find out more about what each one does in our community.  This is the second year of our popular Charity of the Month scheme which raises awareness about projects with our listeners.

The second Wednesday of the Month Norman chairs a new monthly gardening show.  A horticultural expert from Notcutt’s Gardening Centre in Brampton comes in to the studio to give tips to inspire you to cultivate beautiful gardens.   They will also answer listeners questions.

Usually on the first Thursday of the month, depending upon our guest’s duties, Paul Askew explores Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s policing policies with Inspector Colin Norden

Judith Barrass, our resident health and wellbeing expert shares her healthy living tips with Norman on the second Friday of the month.

All these features and so much more …..

as the Over to You team seek to bring you the best of what’s happening in the local community.   Do join us at 7pm each week day – if you miss out, then catch up on our Listen Again service via the website.
